Terms of Use

1. Parties and scope

These terms govern the use of the web app at app.scenelex.com and the Scenelex Companion browser extension (together “Scenelex”). Scenelex is provided by Kevser İpek Gürsel, trading as Coverses. Seller and contact details are on the About page.

You accept these terms when you create an account or accept the Privacy Policy. If you buy a Pro subscription, the Distance Sales Agreement and the Delivery and Refund Terms also apply.

2. Your account

You must be at least 16 years old to use Scenelex and at least 18 to buy Pro. You are responsible for keeping your account details accurate and your password to yourself. If you notice activity you did not authorise, write to us straight away.

3. The service

Scenelex creates English flashcards from subtitles, text you add and screenshots. Content prepared using dictionary information and AI support may contain errors. Scenelex is a learning tool; it does not replace an official translation or exam preparation.

The list of supported video platforms can change as those platforms change their technology. Scenelex is independent of Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, HBO Max, TOD and other platforms and is not affiliated with any of them.

4. Rules of use

You may use Scenelex only for personal learning and only with content you are legally entitled to access. You may not:

• Collect, copy or share content in a way that breaks the terms of the platforms you watch.
• Sell the lists or cards you create, or republish them in bulk.
• Try to get around usage limits, multiply the Free plan with several accounts, or load the service with automated tools.
• Copy or reverse engineer Scenelex’s software or try to get around its security.
• Upload unlawful or harmful content, or content that infringes someone else’s rights.

5. Plans and usage limits

Free has a monthly usage allowance and a word limit per list. Pro offers more usage and extra features, not unlimited usage. Current allowances, renewal dates and prices are shown in the app. We announce significant reductions in your usage allowances in advance.

6. Content and intellectual property

Scenelex’s software, design and brand belong to the operator. Short quotations from subtitles are shown for your personal study; rights in the source content remain with their owners.

Uploading content does not transfer rights in it to Scenelex. We process your submissions to prepare your cards and delete the original content when processing ends. Our Privacy Policy explains how saved cards and learning information are used. You may export lists for your personal use.

7. Availability

We try to keep Scenelex available at all times, but maintenance, updates or problems with third-party services can make it unavailable now and then. Features may change over time. If we remove a paid feature, we tell Pro subscribers in advance.

8. Limitation of liability

Scenelex is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damage arising from its use, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months. Nothing in this section limits the rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.

9. Suspension and closure

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously breach these terms, with notice where possible. Accounts closed for a breach receive no refund for the paid period; otherwise the Delivery and Refund Terms apply.

10. Changes

When we change these terms we update the effective date. We announce significant changes in the app or by email before they take effect and ask you to accept them again. If you do not accept a change, you can delete your account and cancel your Pro subscription.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Türkiye. Within the monetary limits set by the Turkish Ministry of Trade, the Consumer Arbitration Committees have jurisdiction over disputes; above those limits, the Consumer Courts.
